We are pleased to have the first of two screenings from the coastal film collection from the National Screen and Sound Archive of Wales as part of ‘Britain on Film: Coast and Sea. Rhyl Fishing Fleet will be screened on the 17th September and two films of Rhyl Lifeboat Day (1920) will be screened in October.

Rhyl has a proud history of fishing and boat building over many years and the film will be accompanied by an exhibition of original paintings by  the late James Hughes of many of the sailing ships built in Rhyl Harbour.

Britain on Film is supported by Unlocking Film Heritage awarding funds from the National Lottery
